Marine Ship Lift Operator

All Aspects Recruitment & HR Services are currently seeking an experienced Marine Ship Lift Operator for a Darwin based role. The Ship Lift Operator is required to operate the Ship Lift for use in boat yard which is used for lift and moving vessel into, around and out of the yard, and oversee our team of marine specialists at the yard in Darwin.

• The role can either be full time in Darwin or FIFO
• Travel and accommodation provided for FIFO option

Duties include –

• Operation of our Boat Travel Lift for all lifts in the yard, carry out maintenance on Ship lift.
• Assisting the Yard Manager in the day to day running of the facility, by supervising the yards team, forward planning of jobs
• Supervision and allocation of jobs in the yard and work shop. 
• Liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors, and other general duties as required
• Some work on the tools at peak times may be required

Ideally candidates require experience with Ship Lift operations, cranes, forklift, hydraulics, blocking procedures and water front operations.  A broad marine knowledge, and experience as a foreman in a boat repair yard that undertakes work and repairs on all manner of vessels.

Requirements –

• Must hold valid Heavy Equipment appropriate licenses
• Operate Specialised Lifting Equipment license (essential) and Forklift license (essential)
• Motor Vehicle, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, etc.
• Qualifications in Marine Industry, experience in application marine coatings (painting)
• Have demonstrated experience working in boat building or marine environment.

• Demonstrate excellent hand tool skills (sanding & grinding required) and machinery experience.

• Marine paints and coating experience, regular painting and touch-ups of work required
• Experience in the marine industry
• Be self-motivated and have a positive attitude, with an easy-going nature, enthusiasm, and sense of humour
• Be reliable, trustworthy, and hardworking
• Understanding of operational principals.
• Experience in building or manufacturing industry is an advantage.
